PATH is establishing testosterone reference ranges in healthy men. Under the guidance of the TAS, Dr. Shalender Bhasin leads a large-scale project to establish reference intervals that will be applicable to any CDC-certified testosterone tests. Such reference ranges would standardize the interpretation of test results so that they are more readily comparable across time, geographic location and method of measurement. Results are expected by the end of 2014.
PATH continues to develop and implement educational programs for physicians and laboratorians to inform them of the need and availability of standardized hormone assays.
PATH continues to pursue advocacy efforts to ensure universal use of standardized tests.
